Dr. Courtney advocates an approach to spine surgery that is aggressive but safe. Twenty years of experience helped Dr. Courtney identify the need for better biomechanical spine instrumentation—plates, spacers, and screws that offer secure fusion but are safe and have minimal impact on patients’ day to day activities. To fill that void, he founded Eminent Spine, a device company that manufactures spinal implants right here in Texas. Later, building off of the success of Eminent Spine, Dr. Courtney extended that knowledge and helped found Eminent Extremities, an orthopedic medical device company that uses a patented TriLobe® technology to ensure the most secure fusion on the market.
