Meet Dr. Courtney
Dr. Stephen Courtney is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon and the founder of the spine division at Plano Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Spine Center. In recent years, he has expanded his reach and has improved the quality of life for patients across the country by founding two medical device companies, Eminent Spine and Eminent Extremities. Eminent Spine, which manufactures its spine devices in Texas, has reported outstanding outcomes after 13,000 procedures and 60,000 implants. Since its inception in 2008, Eminent Spine has received 5 510(k) product clearances from the FDA, developed 9 product lines, and has obtained 9 patents and 14 trademarks on its products. Dr. Stephen Courtney, the driving force behind Eminent Spine, couldn't be happier with its success, and looks forward to similar outcomes of Eminent Extremities, which is on the cutting edge of orthopedic implants for foot and ankle surgeries.
Education
Dr. Courtney attended medical school at Louisiana State University before completing his residency at Texas A & M University Medical Center and, later, a fellowship at the Florida Neck and Back Institute. He has attended many professional conferences to ensure that he remains at the cutting edge of his field.
